The
current model that Hollywood is using is one of remakes, reboots and
spaced sequels, so it doesn’t come as a surprise that the studios,
directors, etc... might want to change some if not all of the
original cast by someone else that has more “street cred” with
the majority of younger generation and that perhaps can cope with
some of the demands of extensive physical work that some of these
reboots, remakes and sequels demand.
Now
that brings me to Indiana Jones 5 and Harrison Ford and I know what
you are thinking, but he is Han Solo!, but he is Deckard!, but he is
Indy!, well that's all true but lets face it watching a 74 or 76 year
old man (which will probably be Ford's age when the new Indy movie
starts production) on screen swinging from a whip and fighting
barehanded might be a tough sell and considering the disaster that
was Indiana Jones and Kingdom of the Chrystal Skull the studio might
want to change things a bit, and apparently they are at least
considering the possibility that Ford might not want to return after
his stint down memory lane in the new Star Wars.
According
to the LR, their sources are revealing that Bradley Cooper is at the
top of a list for the new Indiana Jones should Ford decline to do it
or the studio decide to go somewhere else with the character and
property, which I assume was what they intended to do in Indy 4 but
failed miserably. Now by any means does this mean that an offer has
been done to Cooper (at least not that we know of), he is just a name
on a list that might or might not exist.
