Production
on the new entry in the Terminator franchise is expected to start
next month but details outside casting have been slim at best. Now
however a couple of new details have surfaced courtesy of Arnold
Schwarzenegger. In an interview to MTV the former Governor says that
there will be two versions of the T-800 and that they will have, or
at least his version will have something special so they can explain
the actor's age on screen.
"'Terminator'
deals a lot with time travel," Schwarzenegger says, "so
there will be a younger T-800, and then [there is] what that model
does later on when it gets reprogrammed, and who gets ahold of him.
So it will be all kinds of interesting twists in the movie."
The
actor goes on to say how they will explain his older look.
"The
way that the character is written, it's a machine underneath,"
he says. "It's this metal skeleton. But above that is human
flesh. And the Terminator's flesh ages, just like any other human
being's flesh. Maybe not as fast. But it definitely ages."
Directed
by Alan Taylor, Terminator: Genesis stars Emilia Clarke as Sarah
Connor, Jason Clarke as John Connor, Arnold Schwarzenegger as the
Terminator and Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese. Actor J.K. Simmons is
currently in talks for an unidentified role.
Terminator:
Genesis opens on July 1st, 2015.
