The Motion Pictures Academy of Arts & Science has
announced their shortlist of the films chosen for their achievements in the
Visual Effects category, and they are Pacific Rim, The Hobbit: The Desolation
of Smaug, Iron Man 3, World War Z, The Lone Ranger, Star Trek Into Darkness and
Gravity.
Interestingly enough Man of Steel, Ender’s Game and
The Wolverine were left out, with Ender’s Game and Man of Steel being probably
in my opinion two of the more creative and solid of pieces of visual effects
this year.
