The CW doesn’t seem to get enough of content based on comic books. This time, according Deadline, the network will be adapting the Vertigo series iZombie with Veronica Mars creator Rob Thomas and one of his co-producers Diane Ruggiero.
The series was created by Chris Robertson and Michael
Allred and can be described as:
"a supernatural crime procedural that centers on a
med student-turned-zombie who takes a job in the coroner’s office to gain
access to the brains she must reluctantly eat to maintain her humanity. But
with each brain she consumes, she inherits the corpse’s memories, and with the
help of her medical examiner boss and a police detective, she solves homicide
cases in order to quiet the disturbing voices in her head."
This description differs from the original source
material, since Gwen partners up with a ghost, a mummy, a were-dog, and a group
of vampires.
If the shows goes on to air, it will join The CW’s other
comic base shows like Arrow and the upcoming The Flash and the also announced
Wonder Woman, Constantine, Gotham and The Avenger.
