British
actor and star of the Oscar tipped 12 Years a Slave, Chiwetel Ejiofor seems to
be, at least according to the latest rumors set to enter in a galaxy far, far
away.
According
to the rumors Ejiofor, who is no stranger to the sci-fi genre, having appeared
as the lead villain in Joss Whedon’s Firefly sequel movie, Serenity, has been
seen in J.J. Abrams Production Company.
According
to Jedi News, “Ejiofor, who was a very early consideration for a role in the
film and who also met with J.J. Abrams this week, will be joining the cast of
Episode VII in an as yet undisclosed role.”
Truth
or not, the actor has given strong performances in variety of movies and
genres, from Children of Men, Love, Actually, Serenity but has never broke out
has a big name in the movie business until this year with director Steve
McQueen’s 12 Years a Slave, in which the actor is a strong contender for the
best actor Oscar.
