Back
in 1982, two 11 year old boys called Chris Strompolos and Eric Zala made a shot
for shot remake of Steven Spielberg’s Raiders of the Lost Ark, which they
called Raiders of the Lost Ark: The Adaptation. Some year ago, the seven year
project made some headlines and got a commendation from Spielberg himself.
At
one point there was some talk about making a boy’s coming of age feature about
them, with a script penned by Ghost World creator Daniel Clowes, but now
according to Deadline, Napoleon Dynamite producer Jeremy Coon is getting the
project up and running with Raiders!: The Story of the Greatest Fan Film Ever
Made book by Alan Eisenstock as its source material.
At
this time it’s unclear whether the feature film will have Clowes original script or
Eisenstock’s book as it source.
