Jennifer Lawrence Reunites With The Hunger Games Director For East of Eden Adaptation

Director Gary Ross and actress Jennifer Lawrence will reunite after the 2012 The Hunger Games, for a new adaptation of John Steinbeck’s novel East of Eden. The adaptation will be broken down into two installments.

Written in 1952, East of Eden is one of the great American classic novels, and centers on the intertwining destines of two families, the Trask’s and the Hamilton’s. Steinbeck’s novel is a re-tale of Adam and Eve and Cain and Abel stories.

In the adaptation Lawrence will play “Cathy Ames, the cold and cruel mother of the boys and estranged wife of the farmer.  The films will tell their stories, leading into the rivalry between their sons.”
