Actor Matt Damon is the latest addition to Nolan’s sci-fi film Interstellar, which tells the story of “a group of explorers who make use of a newly discovered wormhole to surpass the limitations on human space travel and conquer the vast distances involved in an interstellar voyage.”
Damon
will join the brilliant cast composed by Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway,
Jessica Chastain, Bill Irwin, John Lithgow, Casey Affleck, David Gyasi, Wes Bentley,
Mackenzie Foy, Timothée Chalamet, Topher Grace, David Oyelowo, Ellen Burstyn,
and Michael Caine.
Interstellar
opens on November 7, 2014.
In a
semi-related story Damon is making his directorial debut with A Murder Foretold,
which is based on a New Yorker article by David Grann and now adapted by Chris
Terrio from Argo.
A
Murder Foretold tells the true story of Guatemalan attorney Rodrigo Rosenberg,
who at his own funeral, played a video of him implicating the President of the
US, the President’s wife and the President’s aids of his murder, and by doing
so he hoped that this would raise awareness for the epidemic of homicide within
the Guatemalan community and the government corruption that allowed such crimes
to continue. Despite this, a special prosecutor’s findings declared something else.
