Award winning producer, Brian Grazer has been trying for the last decade to make a biopic about the Soul Brother Number One, Mr. James “Godfather of Soul” Brown. The Help director, Tate Taylor has been hired to direct and musician Mick Jagger is on board has producer.
Current
reports say that actor Chadwick Boseman (42) has been cast to play the lead
role as Brown in the biopic, and there are rumors that Taylor might be going to
bring some of The Help cast for supporting roles, mainly Viola Davis, Nelsan
Ellis and Octavia Spencer.
The movie
will be about Brown’s rise from extreme poverty to his immense success and wealth in the 60's and 70's,
and ending on his more troublesome years of drug addiction, domestic violence and
criminal behavior from the 80's until his death in 2006.
All and
all it seems that it will be a lot like 2004’s Ray, which was very good.
