One of the best looking projects I’ve seen in a while, it just looks gorgeous, incredible. Dust was directed by Mike Grier who after a kickstarter campaign last year was able to go to some abandoned rural areas in Japan an shoot this short in just 11 days. The money from the kickstarter was apparently put to good use, the special effects, art direction; everything seems to be spot on.
The
short will have a booth at Comic-Con and I hope they get out of there with a
feature film deal. Great. Check the trailer bellow.
“Dust
takes place in a world of rapid evolution. Each year new species and
adaptations alter the balance of their ecosystems. Technology and deep
tradition exist as symbiotic opposites dividing people who live in the
countryside from those who live in walled cities. Amidst this cultural turmoil,
nature offers up an unexpected challenge.”
