Name
– Xbox One
Release
Date – Worldwide distribution by the end of the year
Processor
and Graphics – 8-core x 86 processor. It compromises in both speed and power
with a GPU, CPU and ESRAM. Is capable of producing the 1080p at 30fps and does
3D as well. You can split the screen and multitask, for example play a game and
surf the web.
Controllers
– One of the best controllers around. It has new impulse triggers, which deliver
a more precise
feedback. It has a better design for improved precision and comfort.
feedback. It has a better design for improved precision and comfort.
Kinect
– It has been completely re-engineered so it could adapt to all the new
improvements. “It’s more precise. More responsive. More intuitive.” The new
Kinect is not only better than its predecessor in more than one way, it lets
you control the size of the windows, for example if you are watching a film and
want to minimize the window so you can check something else, you merely need to
make a motion with your hands and it complies.
Storage
and Blu-Ray – No longer uses HD-DVD. Blu-Ray allows Xbox One to handle next-gen
games. You will be able to storage Blu-ray films and games in your standard 500
GB mechanical hard disk.
DRM
and Used Games – Apparently there is two schools of thought regarding DRM (Digital
Rights Management). One is that if you install a game your home console, than
you can’t lend it to a friend, because the game will be lock to your console
and can only be played there. The second and the most reasonable is that it
will be up to the publishers if they wish to lock their game or content like
DLC to a specific single console. So if you are going to by a second hand game for Xbox One, make sure it wasn't previously installed on another console.
Speech
Recognition – This is probably one of the coolest things (if it works properly)
of the new Xbox. It doesn’t matter if your neighbors think you are insane, you
can now give orders to your console, like turn tv on and it will comply, very
sci-fi.
Illumiroom
–It will use a projector to send effects around your room, creating a more
immersive experience. But the company announced that the first public demo will
only take place in July, so it’s an uncertainty whether it will come as standard
with the console or it will be an extra like Kinect.Check the demo below.
Price
– So far no one knows, Microsoft is probably waiting for PS4 to come out so
they can decide, but even so they should retail for about 400 dollars, without
taxes.
