Actor David Strathairn (Good Night and Good Luck and Alphas) is in talks to start in the 2014 Godzilla reboot, directed by Gareth Edwards. In talk are also Aaron Johnson (Kick-Ass, Savages and Anna Karenina) and Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad, Total Recall and Argo). Although they are very likely to appear in the movie, actress Elizabeth Olsen (Red Lights and 2013 Oldboy) is the only one at this point that has been officialy announced.
The character that David Strathairn should portrait is one of a high ranking military officer.
Rumored to appear is actress Juliette Binoche.
