With principal photography
on the yet untitled Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them sequel underway, some
minor plot spoilers and a full cast list for the anticipated film have been
made available.
Joining the second
installment in the five-part Fantastic Beasts film series are Claudia Kim ("Avengers:
Age of Ultron") as a woman working as an attraction at a wizarding circus,
Olafur Darri Olafsson ("The BFG") as Skenderm who runs the circus,
Ingvar Sigurdsson ("Everest") as a bounty hunter, and William Nadylam
("Kirikou") as a wizard named Yusuf Kama.
Reprising their roles
from the first film are Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander, Johnny Depp as
Gellert Grindewald, Zoe Kravitz as Leta Strange, who we first glimpsed as a
moving photo in the first film, Ezra Miller as Credence, and Kevin Guthrie as
Abernathy.
As previously announced
Jude Law will play a younger Albus Dumbledore, while Callum Turner ("Green
Room") will play Newt's brother Theseus, a war hero and Auror.
Again written by J.K.
Rowling and directed by David Yates, the film moves the action from New York to
London and Paris, with some "surprising nods" to the Harry Potter
films along the way.
The yet untitled film
opens in 1927, a few months after the events of the first film, which saw Newt
unveiling and capturing Grindewald, and sees the young magizoologist teaming
with his former professor Bumbledore to stop the dark wizard, who has escaped
prison and has gathered more followers to his cause.
Fantastic Beasts and
Where to Find Them 2 opens in theaters on November 16, 2018.
