After mentoring Katniss Everdeen as Haymitch Abernathy in The Hunger Games
franchise, Woody Harrelson is being eyed by Disney to guide yet another iconic
character in their journey.
According to Variety, Harrelson is in early talks to play Han Solo's mentor
in the yet untitled Star Wars spinoff film centered on a young version of the
character.
The Dark Knight star Christian Bale
was apparently in consideration for the same role, but it looks like Harrelson rose to the top of the list.
Directed by Chris Miller and Phil Lord, the yet untitled project stars Alden
Ehrenreich as Han Solo, Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian, and Game
of Thrones star Emilia Clarke in a yet undisclosed role.
Kathleen Kennedy and Allison Shearmur
are producing the feature, which is expected to go into production this month
for a May 25, 2018 release.
