Richard Armitage Joins Oceans 8

British actor Richard Armitage, who played Thorin in Peter Jackson's The Hobbit trilogy, and Francis Dolerhyde in Hannibal, is joining the cast of Ocean's Eight in a yet unknown role.

Armitage joins Sandra Bullock, Dakota Fanning, Anne Hathaway, Cate Blanchett, Helena Bonham Carter, Mindy Kaling, Rihanna, Sarah Paulson, James Corden, Damian Lewis, Awkwafina, and Matt Damon, who reprises his role from the previous three films.

Produced by Steven Soderbergh, Oceans' Eight will be directed by Gary Ross ("The Hungers Games") from a script he co-wrote with Olivia Milch.

Ocean's Eight opens in theaters on June 8, 2018.
