With production
currently ongoing in Australia, Pacific Rim sequel star John Boyega has shared
a picture of his script on Instagram, thus finally confirming the official
title for the anticipated follow-up to Guillermo del Toro's 2013 sci-fi film.
Plot details are being kept hidden, but in Pacific Rim: Maelstrom Boyega is set to play Stacker Pentecost's son, Idris Elba's deceased
character from the first movie.
Directed by Steven S.
DeKnight ("Marvel's Daredevil") from a script by Guillermo del Toro,
Kira Snyder, and Emily Carmichael, Pacific Rim: Maelstrom also stars Scott
Eastwood, Max Martini, Tian Jing, Levi Meaden, Cailee Spaeny, and Adria Arjona.
Pacific Rim:
Maelstrom opens in theaters on February 23, 2018.
