The first poster for Alien: Covenant has been unveiled. Covenant is the second
chapter in Ridley Scott's Alien prequels that first started with Prometheus in
2012, and directly connects to the director's 1979 seminal work of science
fiction.
In the film, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the
colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted
paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is
the "synthetic" David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed
Prometheus expedition.
With the poster, 20th Century Fox is also announcing yet another shift in
release dates. Originally set to open in theaters on October 2, 2017, Fox then moved
the date to August 4, and is now staking May 19 as the new release date for the
film.
Alien: Covenant also stars Katherine Waterston, Noomie Rapace, Carmen
Ejogo, Billy Crudup, Jussie Smollett, Demián Bichir, Danny McBride, Callie Hernandez,
and Amy Seimetz.
