Century Fox has released the first trailer for James Mangold's Logan, the last
Wolverine standalone film featuring its iconic star Hugh Jackman.
Despite
the absence of a synopsis, the trailer does confirm some of the things we have
been hearing about the film, such as the fact that mutants are nearly extinct,
Professor X is very ill, Logan is no longer able to heal as he once did, and that Boyd
Holbrook's Donald Pierce will indeed be the leader of the Reavers.
Furthermore,
the trailer, which is accompanied by Johnny Cash's Hurt, heavily implies that
Logan will introduce X-23, i.e. Wolverine's successor.
Opening in theaters on March 3, 2017,
Logan also stars Patrick Stewart, Dafne Keen, Richard E. Grant, Elizabeth
Rodriguez, Elise Neal, and Stephen Merchant.
