It seems Warner Bros. cannot
wait to start promoting Zack Snyder's follow-up to Batman v Superman: Dawn of
Justice. Following a lengthy sizzle reel back in July, and a quick sneak peek
behind the curtain just last week, the studio has now unveiled our first look
at Amber Heard as Mera in Justice League.
In the comics, Mera is the
Queen of Atlantis and Aquaman's (Jason Momoa in the film) wife. With
powers and abilities that rival those of any other superhero, Mera is able to
control water, has superhuman strength, some telepathic abilities, and is proficient
in hand-to-hand combat.
Starring Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Kiersey Clemmons,
Willem Dafoe, Ezra Miller, J.K. Simmons, Jeremy Irons, Amy Adams, and Henry
Cavill, Justice League opens in theaters on November 17, 2017.
Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s
selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince,
to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly
to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened
threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of
heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be
too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
