Focus Features has
released the first clip for J.A. Bayona's much talked
about fantasy
drama A Monster Calls.
Based on Patrick Ness' award-winning children's novel
of the same name, the film centers on a 12-year-old boy named Conor (Lewis
MacDougall) who escapes into a fantasy world of monsters and fairy tales as a
way to deal with his mother's (Felicity Jones) illness and the bullies that
torment him at school.
Opening in theaters on October 14, A Monster Calls
also stars Liam Neeson, Sigourney Weaver, and Toby Kebbell.
