Fifty
Shades star Jamie Dornan is in negotiations to play Will Scarlet in director
Otto Bathurst's ("Peaky Blinders") Robin Hood: Origins.
From
a script by writer/producer/director Joby Harold ("Awake") and
produced by Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Davisson under their Appian Way
banner, Bathurst's Robin Hood: Origins follows the titular hero as he returns
from the Crusades and eventually forms a band of merry men to fight corruption.
Kingsman:
The Secret Service star Taron Egerton is set to play the titular role opposite
Eve Hewson ("Bridge of Spies") as Maid Marian, and Oscar-winning
actor Jamie Fox as a "battle-hardened but war-weary" Little John.
Not
unlike Ridley Scott's 2010 film starring Russell Crowe and Cate Blanchett, Bathurst's
interpretation of the iconic outlaw and hero is said to be "a gritty revisionist
take" on the famous character.
The
model turned actor is having a busy 2016 as he cemented his talent with the
World War II thriller Anthropoid, and the mystery thriller The 9th Life of
Louis Drax. Dornan recently wrapped filming both Fifty Shades sequels and is also
starring in the BBC drama The Fall.
