Visual effects
artist and supervisor Hasraf "HaZ" Dulull ("Hellboy II: The
Golden Army," "The Dark Knight") has signed on to direct a
futuristic take on Robin Hood being developed by 300 producer Gianni Nunnari
and his Hollywood Gang production company.
Written
by comic book author Tony Lee ("Spider-Man"), will be a reimagining
of the classical tale that sees the iconic character taking action in a not too
distant dystopian London.
According
to THR, Nunnari picked the inexperienced filmmaker after watching some of his
short films including the sci-fi thrillers Sync and Project Kronos.
"HaZ brings the
grounded realistic approach to the world depicting technology and people in a
not too distant dystopian London," said Nunnari, who is eyeing a 2017
production start.
As for Dulull,
he is currently in post-production on his feature film debut The Void, a sci-fi
thriller based on Project Kronos with which he hopes to break new ground in
visual effects.
