20th Century Fox has
released a fleeting behind-the-scenes look at Tim Burton's upcoming adaptation
of the best-selling novel Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, which
adds new footage of the peculiar children in action to the usual talk from cast
and crew.
Based on Ransom Riggs novel of the same name, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar
Children stars Asa Butterfield ("Hugo") as Jake, a 16-year-boy
plagued with nightmares following a family tragedy. Told by his therapist to go
on a journey to find an abandoned orphanage where his late grandfather claimed
he once lived, Jake discovers that the place acts as a magical gateway to an
alternate world where children with peculiarities are taken care of by a
magical guardian played by Eva Green, who protects them from monsters known as
hollows.
Opening on September
30th, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children also stars Ella
Purnell, Allison Janney, Terence Stamp, Rupert Everett, Kim
Dickens, Judi Dench, and Samuel L. Jackson.
From visionary director Tim
Burton, and based upon the best-selling novel, comes an
unforgettable motion picture experience. When his beloved grandfather leaves
Jake clues to a mystery that spans different worlds and times, he finds a
magical place known as Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. But the
mystery and danger deepen as he gets to know the residents and learns about
their special powers… and their powerful enemies. Ultimately, Jake discovers
that only his own special “peculiarity” can save his new friends.
