Paramount Pictures has
released the first bit of footage from director Ed Zwick's ("The Last
Samurai") upcoming Jack Reacher: Never Go Back along with an exclusive
interview Tom Cruise's co-star in the film Cobie Smulders gave to Entertainment Tonight where
she speaks about her role in the film.
In Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, former military cop Jack
Reacher (Cruise) makes it all the way from snowbound South Dakota to his
destination in northeastern Virginia, near Washington, D.C.: the headquarters
of his old unit, the 110th MP. The old stone building is the closest thing to a
home he ever had. Reacher is there to meet — in person — the new commanding
officer, Major Susan Turner, so far just a warm, intriguing voice on the phone.
But it isn’t Turner behind the CO’s desk. And Reacher is hit with two pieces of
shocking news, one with serious criminal consequences, and one too personal
even to think about.
Titled after Lee Child's 18th
novel of the same name in the Jack Reacher series, Never Go Back also stars Robert
Knepper, Danika Yarosh, Austin Hebert, Patrick Heusinger,
Aldis Hodge, Holt McCallany, and Robert Catrini.
Jack Reacher: Never Go Back hits theaters on
October 16.
