It looks like 24:
Legacy has an ace or aces up its sleeve, and producers do not seem afraid
to pull them out should the spin-off require it.
Although the original
plan was not to have any of the original cast members reprise their roles in
the new 24 series, and instead focus on Corey Hawkins' Eric Carter character,
it sounds like Fox is likely to bring back Kiefer Sutherland, who is an executive
producer on the show, as well as other members from the original cast.
"Our
intention is definitely to bring some of the old people into this story",
said producer Howard Gordon, "up to and including Kiefer, once this show
gets its legs."
While
it is good to hear that they will wait for the 12-episode show to find its audience,
it sounds like Jack Bauer will probably be used as a way to boost ratings
should they start to fall behind in any significant way. There is also the
possibility that he could help launch the show's second season should it get
one.
Premiering
on February 5, 24: Legacy also stars Miranda Otto, Jimmy Smits, Teddy Sears, Dan Bucatinsky, Anna
Diop, Ashley Thomas, Charlie Hofheimer, Coral Pena, and Sheila Vand.
