NBC has renewed their Friday
night supernatural crime drama Grimm for a sixth season.
"We absolutely love what
our producers and cast have accomplished over the past five seasons," NBC
Entertainment Jennifer Salke said. "They have created a whole new world of
creatures and have a truly devoted fan base. We can’t wait to see what comes
next."
The series survives other
genre shows NBC tried launch on the same time slot such as Hannibal, which
ended after three seasons, and Dracula, Crossbones, and Constantine, which NBC
pulled the plug after just one.
"Grimm" is a drama
series inspired by the classic Grimm Brothers' Fairy Tales. After Portland
homicide detective Nick Burkhardt (David Giuntoli) discovers he's descended
from an elite line of criminal profilers known as "Grimms," he
increasingly finds his responsibilities as a detective at odds with his new
responsibilities as a Grimm.
In the wake of his mother's
beheading and Juliette's (Bitsie Tulloch) "death," things have never
been more chaotic for Nick. Having lost so much, Nick must dig deep and decide
what type of person he wants to be, while also coming to grips with fathering a
child with his once sworn enemy, Adalind (Claire Coffee).
On top of all this, crime in
Portland continues to rise, with even more dangerous Wesen coming out of the
shadows and making their way to the great Northwest. A Wesen uprising is on the
horizon and everyone will need to be prepared.
Grimm also stars Russell
Hornsby, Silas Weir Mitchell, Reggie Lee, and Bree Truner.
