Star Wars and Ex Machina actor Domhnall
Gleeson is joining Will Forte in Netflix's A Futile And Stupid Gesture, a drama
about the founders of the National Lampoon, and its rise from a comedy magazine
in the late '60s to a major force in the '70s and '80s with such films as
Animal House, Caddyshack, and Vacation.
Forte is set to play Doug
Kenney, while Gleeson is currently working on a deal to play Henry Beard, one
of the co-founders of the comedy magazine alongside Kenney and Robert Hoffman.
Wet Hot American Summer
co-creator David Wain is attached to direct A Futile And Stupid Gesture from a
script written by former Harvard Lampoon
editors Michael Colton and John Aboud based on a book by Josh Karp.
