Star
Wars superstar Daisy Ridley has entered negotiations to star in The Lost Wife,
a Holocaust drama that centers on a young Jewish woman who after getting separated
from her husband when the Nazi forces invaded Prague, uses her talents as an
artist to survive, and hopefully reunite with her husband, which she does
decades later in America.
Based
on a book by Alyson Richman, The Lost Wife could be the actress second big role
outside of Star Wars following her casting in Marielle Heller's Kolma, which
The Force Awakens director J.J. Abrams is producing for Paramount Pictures.
Oscar
nominated producer Robbie Brenner ("Dallas Buyers Club") is producing
the film via The Firm, where she is the president of the film division.
As
for Ridley, she will next appear in Rian Johnson's yet untitled Star Wars:
Episode VIII, which is set to open in theaters on December 15, 2017, and she is
also executive producing and narrating the English-language version of the
Sundance documentary, The Eagle Huntress.
