It
has been nearly a month since Disney and Lucasfilm announced the beginning of
production for the highly anticipated follow-up to J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: The
Force Awakens, the yet untitled Star Wars: Episode VIII.
Yesterday,
writer/director Rian Johnson shared a behind-the-scenes picture taken on the
set of the production featuring cinematographer Steve Yedlin standing near what
seems to be the dismantled cockpit of the iconic Millennium Falcon.
Yedlin
and Johnson are old acquaintances having previously worked together on four
different projects besides Star Wars including Brick, The Brothers Bloom, and
Looper.
The images was shared on Johnson's
Tumblr page where he also said that it is "hard to believe we’re wrapping
up week four already, it’s just flying by."
Star Wars: Episode VIII opens in
theaters on December 15, 2017.
