Sheila Vand (Argo) has
been cast as a series regular in Fox's upcoming pilot for 24: Legacy, which is expected
to reboot the franchise with an all-new cast and set of characters.
The actress joins
Corey Hawkins, Miranda Otto, Anna Diop, Jimmy
Smits, Teddy Sears, Dab Bucatinsky, and Ashley Thomas.
24: Legacy follows Eric Carter (Hawkins), a strong and
smart Army Ranger, whose past in the military forces him to jump back into
action and seek help from the Counter Terrorist Unit to try to prevent an
attack on American soil.
Vand will play Nilaa, "the campaign director of
Sen. Donovan (Smits) who is driven and bright and won’t take a back
seat to the judgment of Donovan’s wife, Rebecca (Otto)."
Original 24 scribes Manny Coto and Evan Katz are
writing the new show, with Stephen Hopkins, who helmed the pilot of the
original series, directing.
