Katie Aselton (The League, The
Gift) has landed a role in FX's pilot for Legion, an upcoming drama set in a parallel X-Men universe from Fargo
creator Noah Hawley, and starring Dan Stevens, Aubrey Plaza, Jean Smart, Rachel Keller, Jeremie
Harris, and Amber Midthunder.
The series follows David Haller (Stevens) a troubled
young man who may be more than human. Since he was a teenager, David has
struggled with mental illness. Diagnosed as schizophrenic, David has been in and
out of psychiatric hospitals for years. But after a strange encounter with a
fellow patient, he’s confronted with the possibility that the voices he hears
and the visions he sees might be real.
Aselton will play Amy, a
fellow patient at the same mental health institute as David.
Executive producing the series alongside
Hawley are Lauren Shuler Donner (X-Men: Days of Future Past), Bryan Singer (X-Men), Simon Kinberg (The Martian), Jeph Loeb
(Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), Jim Chory (Marvel’s Daredevil) and John
Cameron (The Big Lebowski)
