
MGM and Paramount Pictures have released the first
trailer for the upcoming biblical epic Ben-Hur, a new adaptation of Lew Wallace
1880's novel of the same name by Wanted director Timur Bekmambetov.
The new take on Wallace's novel follows the story of
Judah Ben-Hur (Jack Huston), a prince falsely accused of treason
by his adopted brother Messala (Toby Kebbell). Stripped of his title, separated
from his family and of the woman he loves (Nazanin Boniadi), Judah is sent into
slavery. After years of
working at sea, Judah returns home to seek revenge, but finds
redemption.
Set
to open in theaters on August 12, Ben-Hur also stars Pilou Asbaek, Morgan Freeman, Moises Arias, Ayelet
Zurer, and Rodrigo Santoro.
