Peaky Blinders star
Annabelle Wallis is in talks to land the female lead role in the upcoming
reboot of The Mummy for Universal Pictures.
The project, which Alex
Kurtzman will direct, is the first in a series of movies that will weave with
each other and include Dracula, Wolfman, and the Invisible Man.
Kingsman: The Secret
Service breakout star Sofia Boutella will play the titular creature opposite
Tom Cruise, who according to The Hollywood Reporter will play either a special
forces or former soldier.
As for Wallis'
character details are virtually non-existent, but the trade says that she will
play a scientist.
The Mummy opens in
theaters on June 9, 2017.
