Beloved Star Wars
icon Peter Mayhew has decided to use Twitter to tease fans of an impending reveal.
The actor, who has played Chewbacca since the beginning, used the social
platform to share some pictures of the cover and some pages of the first movie
in the franchise, while at the same time teasing a "big announcement"
for the near future.
Starting today I'll post a few pages from my original @StarWars script each day leading up to a big announcement. pic.twitter.com/ReXI4hyQo1— Peter Mayhew (@TheWookieeRoars) 17 fevereiro 2016
What that
announcement might be the actor obviously didn't say, but it is possible he
will confirm his return for Rian Johnson's upcoming Episode VIII, which might
seem minor, but Mayhew has been dealing with knee problems for quite some time.
The actor underwent double-knee replacement just prior to The Force Awakens,
and even then, he had to be replaced by newcomer Joonas Suotamo when the movie
asked for Chewbacca to be more mobile.
Of course, it is entirely
possible that Mayhew's big announcement has to do with something else, so we
have to wait and try not go mad in anticipation.
