Original Deadpool Script Had Three Extra Villains

Deadpool is out and it is fantastic. The comedy works, his journey is believable, and the characters are awesome, but did you know there was supposed to be three extra villains in the movie besides Ed Skrein's Ajax, and Gina Carano's Angel Dust?

According to co-screenwriter Rhett Reese, Ajax had in the first draft of the script three very different underlings that due to the budget were combined into one, Carano's Angel Dust.

"We consolidated, in the first draft, Ajax has really three underlings. It was Wyre, it was Garrison Kane and it was Sluggo," Reese told CinemaBlend. "And then ultimately due to budget, we had to consolidate those into one character. And we wanted the movie to have a really strong kick-ass female presence. That was a mandate from Tim, so we introduced, we introduced Angel Dust as sort of a combination of those three to provide the muscle for Ajax."

So who are these characters?

Wyre is a mutant assassin who debut in the Alpha Flight comics back in the distant year of 1992. His powers include the ability to create tendrils of inorganic fiber from his body, which he can command telepathically. He is also a weapons expert.

Sluggo is a Weapon X graduate who trained with Wade Wilson, a.k.a. Deadpool. Virtually invulnerable, Sluggo's debut was in a 1993 issue of the X-Force comics.

Garrison Kane or Weapon X, like Wolverine, Kane is a nearly indestructible cyborg created in the Weapon X program with built in weapons such as projectiles and blades.
