Although the project
is still in early development, without a screenwriter or director attached to
it, Michael B. Jordan has joined MGM's upcoming remake of the heist thriller,
The Thomas Crown Affair.
According to The Hollywood
Reporter, MGM higher-ups were so pleased with how Creed turned out that they
are shaping the movie around the actor, who according to several sources was
the one who pitched the idea to the studio.
Directed by Norman
Jewison, the original 1968 movie starred Steve McQueen as a wealthy playboy, whom
to compensate for his monotonous life conceives and executes elaborated art
thefts. A game of cat and mouse begins when an insurance investigator played by
Faye Dunaway appears. In 1999, the movie was remade with Pierce Brosnan and
Rene Russo.
