It looks like Elizabeth Banks is not done with the crazy
and over the top hairdos. The actress/director/producer has been cast as the
villainess Rita Repulsa in the new Power Rangers movie, which is currently being
developed over at Lionsgate, the studio behind The Hunger Games franchise, in which
Banks played Effie Trinket.

In the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers TV show, which ran
between 1993 and 1996, Rita Repulsa was played by Barbara Goodson, whose
credits include voicing Mother Talzin in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars cartoon,
and Chiyo in the American dubbed version of the wildly popular Naruto:
Shippûden anime.
Directed by Dean Israelite (Project Almanac) from a
script penned by X-Men: First Class writers Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz,
Power Rangers will also star Naomi Scott as Kimberly Hart (Pink), RJ Cyler as
Billy Cranston (Blue), Becky G. as Trini Kwan (Yellow), Dacre Montgomery as
Jason Lee Scott (Red), and Ludi Lin as Zack Taylor (Black).
