In
his first session as the president of TNT and TBS, Kevin Reilly revealed at the
recent Television Critics Association 2016 Winter Press Tour, that TNT has
passed on the live-action adaption of Teen Titans.
Based
on a DC Comics' property, Teen Titans is a team of young superheroes that
includes Robin, Cyborg, Starfire, Beast Boy, Aqualad, and Raven among many
others.
"We just decided
it wasn’t quite where we wanted to go," Reilly said.
Oscar-winning
screenwriter Akiva Goldsman (A Beautiful Mind), and Marc Haimes were attached
to the project, which had received a pilot order back in the fall of 2014, just
a couple of weeks prior to Reilly's rise to power.
During
the TCA's Rilley also made clear that he wants to steer the network into a new
direction after the end of Rizzoli & Isles and the premiere of new shows
like Animal Kingdom and Good Behavior.
