Paramount Pictures has released the first images from Crazy, Stupid,
Love and Focus directors Glenn Ficarra and John Requa's upcoming comedy/drama
Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, previously titled The Taliban Shuffle.
Based on Kim Barker's memoir The Taliban Shuffle: Strange Days in
Afghanistan and Pakistan, the story follows a journalist who is sent to cover
the war in Kabul and ends up becoming "entrenched in a culture of
adrenaline and parties."
Along the way, Fey's character meets a British TV correspondent played
by Margot Robbie, Billy Bob Thornton as a General, Christopher Abbot as an Afghan
fixer, Alfred Molina as a local official with a crush on her, and a Scottish
war photographer played by Martin Freeman whom may or may not become a romantic
interest.
30 Rock co-showrunner Robert Carlock penned the adaptation, which will
hit theaters on March 4, 2016.
