More Martians Will Join Supergirl

Now that Hank Henshaw (David Harewodd) revealed himself to be J'onn J'onzz, aka the Martian Manhunter on CBS' Supergirl show, will we see anymore surprise visitors from the red planet?

Well, yes, as it turns out. In the third episode after the break, "we have a visitor from another planet who’s a White Martian," David Harewood explains. "There are two Martian species — a Green Martian species and a White Martian species — and the White Martians, in our story, are responsible for the death of the whole of the Green Martians."

In the comics, there are two other known species of sentient Martians besides the Green ones, to which J'onzz belongs. There are the Yellow ones (Pre-Crisis Earth-One), and the White ones. The Green and White Martians used to be one but they were genetically split into two distinct races after the Guardians of the Universe deemed them too dangerous to be left unchecked. The Green Martians became a peaceful race, while the White ones become savage warriors hell-bent on destroying their Green siblings, which they clearly achieved.

On a side note, the superhero known as Miss Martian is usually represented in the comics and in animations as a Green Martian but she is in fact a White one, who escaped the civil war, so not all White Martians are evil. Could she be the other visitor Harewood is teasing?
