Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Beyond the Lights) and Mackenzie
Davis (Halt and Catch Fire, The Martian) have joined the second season of the acclaimed
sci-fi anthology series Black Mirror for Netflix.
As in the original series, which featured different
actors and different stories in each of the episodes, both actresses will only
appear in one episode of the new 12-episode series, which is already in
production.
Original producers Annabel Jones and Charlie Brooker
are executive producing the new show. But Jones and Brooker aren't the only
returning faces. Director Owen Harris (Misfits, Kill Your Friends) who directed
the Be Right Back episode starring Domhnall Gleeson and Hayley Atwell is also
returning and to direct the episode featuring Mbatha-Raw and Davis.
The original British show also starred Toby Kebbell, Jon
Hamm, Jessica Brown Findlay, Daniel Kaluuya, Rory Kinnear, Lindsay Duncan, Jodi
Whittaker, Michael Smiley, Chloe Pirrie, Rafe Spall, Rupert Everett, Donald Sumpter,
Jason Flemyng, Oona Chaplin, and Julia Davis to name only a few.
