FX has renewed their prized horror anthology series American
Horror Story for a new season, which according to the network will debut in
2016.
Created by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, the American
Horror Story series has been one of FX's most successful shows to date, with
the latest season, Hotel, being the most watched across the board. In fact the
premiere of Hotel was only surpassed by the premiere of Freak Show, a season
that gave the network five of the thirteen Emmys the show has won so far.
According to FX Network and FX Productions CEO John
Landgraf, American Horror Story "push[ed]
every conceivable boundary of creative excellence and audacity."
In 2016 the network will launch a 10-episode companion
miniseries titled American Crime Story, which will focused on true crimes. The
first season will be about the murder trial of O.J. Simpson, and it will star
Cube Gooding Jr. as Simpson, John Travolta as Robert Shapiro, Sarah Paulson as Marcia
Clark and Nathan Lane as F. Lee Bailey.
