Cloverfield and Sons
of Anarchy actor Theo Rossi has landed a regular spot on Netflix's third Marvel
series, Luke Cage opposite Mike Colter as the Hero for Hire, and Alfre Woodard
as Minetta, a version of the villain Black Mariah, who is "a powerful
woman in local politics who will have an impact on Luke Cage's life".
The identity of Rossi's
character is being kept under secret, but according to Deadline, the actor will
play Alvarez, aka Shades, a relentless, menacing, smooth, manipulative,
street smart and controlling villain.
Furthermore, it seems
that Rosario Dawson has also joined the show and will be reprising her character
from Daredevil, Claire Temple, who in the comics is one of Cage's romantic entanglements.
Dawson will also be seen on the second of Netflix's Marvel shows, Jessica
Jones, where Colter will make his Luke Cage debut.
