Wes Ball To Direct Norse Mythology Epic The Fall of Gods

With The Maze Runner a success, and high hopes for The Scorch Trials, 20th Century Fox has setup another project for director Wes Ball to tackle. According to THR, Fox has acquired the rights to Rasmus Berggreen's Fall of Gods, an illustrated book inspired by Norse mythology.

Described as a "brutal, dirty, and powerful" take on Scandinavian mythology, Fall of Gods started as a open community on Facebook, that then grew to a published project on Behance, and then landed on Kickstarter.

Hitman video game writer Michael Vogt, and the team over at the Danish visual development studio MOOD, which Berggreen co-founded, helped the artist in bringing this project to completion.

The success of The Scorch trials will in all likelihood dictate when Fall of Gods will move into production, since there are three more novels in James Dashner's young adult science fiction series of books, The Death Cure, The Kill Order, and The Fever Code.

Fall of Gods is an illustrated book inspired by Norse mythology, following Vali, a warrior haunted by his past, but who has found peace in the arms of a woman. For years he has lived far from society, tending to his farm and trying to forget the battles he fought…and the crimes he committed. But one day his love disappears, and he must set out to find her. He will once again have to face the creatures of Jotunheim and the powerful Aesir. Suddenly, the man he thought he had buried deep down inside has risen to the surface once more...and he comes seeking vengeance.
