After giving a stellar
performance as Eazy-E in F. Gary Gray's Straight Outta Compton, Jason Mitchell
is looking to join fellow N.W.A. co-star Corey Hawkins in Jordan Vogt-Roberts
upcoming Kong: Skull Island, which also stars Tom Hiddleston and Brie Larson.
Plot details are under
lock and key, but according to Variety is set to play a pilot in the upcoming
movie, which follows
a team of explorers on their journey into a mysterious and exotic island that
just so happens to be the home of many ancient creatures including King Kong.
Toby Kebbell, Samuel L. Jackson, John
C. Reilly, and Tom Wilkinson are reportedly in talks to join the adventure.
Max
Borenstein, John Gatins and Dan Gilroy penned the script that Jurassic World
screenwriter Derek Connolly is currently polishing.
Filming is expected to begin in late October for a March 10, 2017 release.
