Disney
has confirmed that Orlando Bloom and Geoffrey Rush will be reprising their characters from the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise in the upcoming sequel being
directed by Kon Tiki directors Espen Sandberg and Joachim Rønning.
Bloom
will once again play Will Turner, the captain of the Flying Dutchman, while Rush
returns as the pirate captain, Hector Barbosa.
Opening
on July 7, 2017, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales also stars
Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow, Kevin R. McNally as Gibbs, Stephen Graham as Scrum,
Javier Bardem as Captain Salazar, Kaya Scodelario as Carina Smith, Brenton
Thwaites as Henry, Golshifteh Farahani as Haifaa Meni, David Wenham as
Scarfield, Martin Klebba as Marty, and Adam Brown as Jib.
