Universal Pictures has released a new IMAX trailer for Baltasar Kormákur's upcoming
survival drama based on true events. Written by Mark Medoff (Children of a Lesser
God) and Simon Beaufoy (Slumdog Millionaire), Everest follows two groups of
climbers, who in 1996 tried to reach the peak of Mount Everest. But when one of
the fiercest snowstorms ever encountered hits the intrepid climbers, what once
was a lifelong dream becomes a breathtaking struggle between Man and Nature.
Opening in 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D on September 18th, Everest stars Jason
Clarke, Josh Brolin, John Hawkes, Jake Gyllenhaal, Keira Knightly, Robin
Wright, Elizabeth Debicki, Emily Watson, Martin Henderson, Michael Kelly, Sam
Worthington and Thomas M. Wright.
Inspired by the incredible events surrounding an attempt to reach the
summit of the world’s highest mountain, EVEREST documents the awe-inspiring
journey of two different expeditions challenged beyond their limits by one of
the fiercest snowstorms ever encountered by mankind. Their mettle tested
by the harshest elements found on the planet, the climbers will face nearly
impossible obstacles as a lifelong obsession becomes a breathtaking struggle
for survival. The epic adventure stars Jason Clarke, Josh Brolin, John
Hawkes and Jake Gyllenhaal. They are joined by Martin Henderson, Emily
