A couple of weeks ago
we reported that the duo behind the Horrible Bosses films and the upcoming John
Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein were being eyed to write the upcoming
Marvel and Sony collaboration and reboot of Spider-Man.
Now while speaking to
NPR, Daley and Goldstein not only confirmed that they have been tapped to pen the
script, but also offer a glimpse at what kind of Peter Parker actor Tom Holland
will play in director Jon Watts upcoming film.
JOHN FRANCIS DALEY: We can finally acknowledge that.
JONATHAN M. GOLDSTEIN: We’ve been saying no comment
for the last week.
DALEY: This is the first time that we can say that we
are writing it.
GOLDSTEIN: We’re thrilled.
DALEY: He’s a sharp kid and witty and kind of deals
with the fact that he’s an outcast and a geek through humor. It is sort of the safety
net for geeks like us, so I think we can totally relate to where he’s coming
from. As
well as the superpowers, which we also have.
Spider-Man's reboot will open on July 28, 2017.
