Fox's different approach to the superhero "genre" in Gotham
seems to have paid out.
With not much to say, the Comic-Con panel for the second season of the
show was highlighted by a fun if villainous surprise.
- After quick preview
revealed that Arkham's worst guests have risen to power, and that Gordon is
barely managing the situation in the upcoming second season of Gotham,
executive producers Bruno Heller, John Stephens, Geoff Johns and Danny
Cannon, and stars Ben McKenzie, Morena Baccarin, Donal Logue, Robin Lord
Taylor, Sean Pertwee, Camren Bicondova, David Mazouz, Erin Richards, and Cory
Michael Smith walked out onto the stage.
- With the introduction of more flamboyant and theatrically inclined
villains, we should expect the second season of Gotham to be bigger and more colorful.
- The second season will also have Cat explore her background and come
to terms as to whether she's a villain or hero.
- With more unique villains coming out, Gordon must also rise to the occasion,
even if Bullock remains his old usual self. McKenzie describes is as an arms
race that will introduce new heroes.
- The turbulent relationship between Alfred and Bruce will be somewhat
resolved, as the two enter in train mode.
- Surprising everyone, Jerome, aka the Joker tries to steal the
spotlight by interrupting a fan asking a question, but security takes him out
and Gordon promises he will find him.
