With more than a few
biopics in his CV, Tom Hanks is in talks for another one, in Clint Eastwood's biopic
about Captain "Sully" Sullenberger, the airline pilot who in 2009
landed the U.S. Airways flight 1549 into the Hudson River after a flock of
geese hit the plane carrying 155 people.
According to
Deadline, Hanks is currently in negotiations with Warner Bros. to star in the
adaptation of Sully's memoir, Highest Duty: My Search For What Really Matters, which goes beyond the occurrence
that shined a spotlight over the pilot's head, and delves deep into the
behind-the-scenes drama "that could have cost him his reputation and
wings."
Written
by Todd Komarnicki (Resistance, Terminal 29), the adaptation doesn't yet have a
start of production nor release date.
